What is the best core to use for a coil????

I have tried various cores thickness and materials. What is the best to use?? what do you all think?

#1. FE3O4 cores
#2. Lincon R60 wielding rods
#3. Solid Iron core ( bolt or nail other etc)
#4. other ideas?

I will reply with some data soon I just wanted to see what you all thought about each first?

Sincerely

Just starting this research myself. However I would reason that the coil and its core will be a variable that needs to be tuned to the type, size, strength and distribution of the magnets used. For that mater, even the size and speed of the rotor.

I am going to be working up my battery knowledge for a bit yet, but do look forward to hearing what you find out.

Your right but the substance you use is going to determine the out come and also the way the field is made and released.

I use a special compound as to not retain a magnetic memory in my coils that causes drag on the motors spinning.

HUMMMMM Drag from magnetic memory from coil cores?????
