Looks like small inverter may be out of stun gun or fluorescent tube ballast.
Flip flop driving a coil for hi voltage output.(Flash gun.)
Nice bit of imitation beech worktop.

It wasn't meant for you...
The imatation beach is my desk... well, one of my desks...
This board is an inverter, but it's for the cold cathode tubes inside my PC...
However, it kicks out 200+ volts at quite a high frequency... Would make an interesting video to power a bulb from it...
