Can I use 9v instead of 12v with Daftmans bedini ssg circuit? I have every thing ready except 2 12v batterys.

you can use voltages as low as 1.5 volts... however, you need to be aware that lower voltsges gives you less power to turn a rotor, assuming your using a rotor... Alternatly, you can also use higher voltages... i'm using a voltage range between 12 and 16 volts but i've seen people use 36 ish volts...
9 volts shouldn't drop the amount of power given to a rotor so it should come upto a reasonable speed... If your thinking of using one of those small 9 volt square batteries to power it then it's not going to work because they will not deliver more than about 100-150mA per hour befor they start heating and you start damaging the cells...

| Yeah I used the square ones. You could see that the rotor wanted to spin but the batterys arent puting out enough power. Hey atleast I got to see my rotor wiggle a bit. That means my coil and circuit are probably ok. |

you can use multiple 9v bats in series (positive to positive, neg to neg) to shair the load between them...

That is parallel, my friend... allowing greater current output. Should work though! Series would give 18V and would likely work too.
