Hi Everyone,

Here is my Daftman-Bedini SSG
Very happy with it at the moment.
Only thing is, I keep burning out 1K pot while playing around with it.

Seems to be putting out some good volts. Neon glows very bright when I disconnect the charging battery.

Please check out the video on utube.

Cheers, Krypt

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! Stupid, Stupid me.

I couldnt figure out why my charging batteries were losing voltage instead of gaining voltage. So, I grabbed my Daftman diagram and went over the wires and components. I found out that the 4007 diode had burnt out and I had run an extra wire from this diode to the negative on the charge battery. This is why my 1K pots were burning out too.

The charging has really taken off now and I have put in a new coil with 800 turns of 22swg and 27swg. Only drawing 0.03A from my 12V 1.3AH drill battery, and charging 2 x 4.5V nicd's in series.

At least I have found a very quick way to discharge batteries (just connect a wire from the 4007 diode to the neg. of the charge batts- Doesnt slow down the rotor to much).

Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Well done on your project, nice to see you sorted it out, you will be surprised at how many try to put a Bedini together and it want run correctly for them so they just blame the info or just say it’s a con it don’t work. Nice to see you figured it out and not just abandoned it.

keep working on it.

Hi everyone,

My motor seems to be running OK, but I am burning out the 1K pots very quickly, and the 100ohm resistor gets very hot. I have tried to use a 10K pot, but it is very difficult to get the rotor to spin when I use this pot.

If anyone has any suggestions, I will be truly greatfull.

Cheers.

Hi teeps.

I have made a new video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQBnKcPduRo )
of my Daftman/Bedini SSG. I have replaced the 1/4watt 1K pot with a 1watt 1K wirewound pot. This has solved the pot self destructing. I have also bought a 12v 7Ah RS battery and added a FWBR (MB252).

The SSG is charging very well at the moment, and draws very little current from the source battery. I still want to try running this from my 4.8v battery, to see how low I can go with the source voltage.

Think its time to start adding more coils and a better rotor. The video head rotor makes too much noise.

Please feel free to crit!!!

Thanks. Krypt
