hi teeps,

while w8ting on parts 4 ma Window Type Bedini ima been playing with the Joule Thief.

cool how 1 can lid up a 90cm 30watt Light Tube with only 1.5v as input...so cool.

ima have post this also on overunity.com...they have help me on tha road with this...

click here 2 see : http://www.kleinbonaire.com/Joule-Thief/Joule-Thief.html

Peace!

update:...the voltage on the pic by the 4 boards is when i`ve energize the circuits 4 15 seconds...and messure it @ the HV cap.

btw...if all goes 2 plan...ima post some Vids this weekend...if it ever goes 2 plan

yes, JT's are interesting... i wonder how muct you can get out of them and if you can multi stage them?

The reason i'm asking... I like many other people that have a generator system... the drive system runns on 12V but the generators only produce say 5V... so, can we use a JT to boost that voltage and 'pump it' into the primary battery / cap bank?

And what about a multi-stage JT?

you could take a look into it...

hi kev,

yes, these circuit r interesting...thing is ima not gonna use mine 4 the Bedini system...ima gonna use it with a EB.

ima going soon 2 ma island...there ima gonna do alot of testing with the EB.
becoz like u know tha JT only need 1,5v 2 lid up those 30 watt tube`s.
and we can easely get tha from mother earth :)
and Pirate88179 have done it already using SuperCaps..

here in holland i don have a yard or something 2 work with...and i will be testing all kinds of materials, setup configuration 2 see wich 1 gives me more voltage :)

all tho the tubes don lid up at full brightness but if 1 can lid up like 5 or 10 with some JT circuit using a EB...that would be enough & great.

Peace!

no one has done an efficiency report on JT efficiencys... whould be good if someone did an input power V outpu power report...
Hint Hint, Prod Prod...

input power V outpu power....well input is 1,5volt AA battery and output is around 400/450volt...have been zapped plenty of time already.

Peace!

you need the curent draw too...
Input power = Input Volts X Input Amps
Output power = Output Volts X Output Amps

okidoki...i will put a amp meter(or multimeter) on 1 of tha wires going 2 tha 30 watt tube.

will do that this weekend...becoz ima hooking 1,2 or 3 TJ on ma VR thats on tha output of ma CapBank.

will keep yah updated :)

Peace!

measuring power in pulsed dc circuits isn't quite so simple... multimeters are designed to measure dc or ac at 50 or 60 HZ. spiky signals at random frequencies can confuse them... also the input volts and amps are out of phase so simply multiplying them can be misleading....
to measure the power properly you can use a resistor and large capacitor between the battery and circuit as a filter to smooth out the signal...

hi kev,

heres some info 4 u...i`ve connected a mutlimetre on 1 of tha wires going 2 tha 30watt tube...

on tha scale 2000u-amp...it reads 140
on tha scale 200m-amp...it reads 0.01
on tha scale 20m-amp...it reads 0.13

this was with 1 of those disposable camera`s circuit...tha 1 with 3 transistors and 2 caps.
see this link 4 a pic of this circuit : http://www.kleinbonaire.com/Joule-Thief/Joule-Thief.html
its tha upper left 1...

4got : havent got tha time 2 make messurements with tha other circuits...busy on tha Window Type...more transformation.

Peace!

hi sceptic33,

to measure the power properly you can use a resistor and large capacitor between the battery and circuit as a filter to smooth out the signal....will keep this in mind for future messurements...:)

you need to set the resistor between the battery and cap so that the cap voltage stays constant while the circuit is running off the cap... you can then calculate the power from the battery voltage and resistance...

Or certain diodes will do the same as a resister...

the, ultimate way to do it is to feed the generator output directly into the input... then their can be no mistake as to wether your under or over unity...

@ BiDaDiKuNuKu, i have to say, the way you use fans to bridge the power gap between the bendine generator and your current load generator, that is BRILLIANT!! i mean the fans act like a torq converter with 100% efficiency, now have you tried some sort of tube covering the fans so that all the air is focused through your generator side? that way air isn't spilling off the fan blades and you get a better response from your generator with a load on it..
