you can do a simple one using a rear wheel off a bike... it has a one way clutch... so, the up and down movement of a wave pushes the wheel around with atached magnets... ergo, generator 101...
Alternatively, a wave is made up of a rotating column of water, so in theory, a 'wind turbine' could be placed on the bottom of the sea close to the shore line to generate power....
